Ammonite Washbasin from High Tech

Item: Washbasin
Designed by High Tech Design Products
Website: www.hightech-design-products.com
Ammonite washbasin made from patented concrete, with fossil-shaped basin, fossil size 64 cm, with integrated waste, including brackets, dimensions: 1200-1590 x 560 mm.
“Ammonites are an extinct species of cephalopods which lived in the sea about 400 million years ago. Their shells are found all over the world and they are very much sought-after by fossil-hunters, their collector’s value depending on size and the state of preservation. The fascinating shape of ammonite fossils – which resembles a rolled up helix – is the basic design element in the new HighTech washbasin. The association of water and fossil design is a clear allusion to the prehistoric inspiration for the Ammonite washbasin.”

Paris Spring Summer 2009: Givenchy

Collection: Givenchy SS09
Designer: Riccardo Tisci
Website: www.givenchy.com
Riccardo Tisci's collection for Givenchy brought expertly tailored suits, and lot of shorts, also we saw something new in a men's collection, it was lace, was it the same influence that Riccardo has in his womenswear I don't know, one more big surprise is that Givenchy football jersey on Brazilian supermodel Evandro Soldati. Just to add my favorite looks from the collection were those with less color, and i selected to show those, there were looks in very bright and summery themes.

This is from year 2006, its the cover Kylie did with her fave photographes Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott . POP magazine is in a way a leftover of the FACE, once a cult magazine that folded few years back, POP is still around, tho they should really have a website, I wasnt able to find anything but their MySpace. This 2006 vintage Kylie sure reminds a lot of Kate Moss, big thanks to Rawbs who found the scans.

Website: www.jeanpaul-gaultier.com
Moving from Milano, its time for the Paris fashion week...Can we say Jean Paul is back? I think we have all the right to say so, and it was just about when you thought that only stripes from Sonia Rykiel are allowed to stay, there's Jean showing us we still need the stripe, and that we want them, badly. Even tho he did the impossible, giving the stripes ones more season, he even made a cowboy look oh so parisien! Well okay we didn't really need the hat on every model Jean Paul, but yay for the stripey new cowboy hat, and yes, thank you Monsier Gaultier. Credit/source modelhommes.com

Milano Spring Summer 2009: DSquared2

Collection: DSquared SS09
Models: Sean Opry, Tyson Beckford, Andre Ziehe, Anthony Gallo
Website: www.dsquared2.com
Tennis is slowly coming back, and we kinda miss the hip hop the way it was, well Daen and Dan from Dssquared2 had an idea of putting these two together. The SS09 collection seems a lot stronger than the one just a year ago, seems like the streetware and even evening wear were combined and covered with a bigger range collection. The highlight was also on the accessories even tho it had a lot of bling motives, cause of the hip hop inspiration obviously, we got to see the most original pieces yet in SS09, from the golden mike necklesses, to the glasses you didnt see on any other runway of Moda Uomo SS 2009, and it even came to brending Dean and Dan names in form of jewlery and prints! Oh and the models, well judge yourself, quite an original cast, don't look twice that is him, Make Me A Supermodel judge, the supermodel Tyson Beckford rocking the runway!

Milan Spring Summer 2009: Vivienne Westwood

Collection: Vivienne Westwood SS09

Models: info coming soon
Website: www.viviennewestwood.com
The Westwood show in Milan this year, had loads of not so regular models, which you can see on the photos above... obviously Vivienne still knows how to put on a show. Westwood and her crew probably had a lot of inspiration in Italy itself for the Spring Summer 2009... lot of the pieces are surprisingly quite commercial, still wouldnt you just love to have a photo fan like that, and even better, match it with your T-shirt? Who wouldnt want a fan on a summer like this, I guess thats why this was my fave look from the show! Didn't wanna write anything bout the plus size guy above, go Vivienne, but please dont think it has anything with a plus size winning on Tyras ANTM.

Website: gaetanonavarra.com
The name of the FW 08/09 collection by Gaeatno Navarra was "Gothic Tales and Medieval Future" lot of elements specially the gothic ones re-appeared again in the Spring Summer 2009 line, with a top choice of models, Gaetano seems to be giving labels such as DSquared something to worry about. Lot of almost worn out materials, shades of blue and gray, again lot of 18th century and edwardian suggestions, with all combined Gaetano people made most of the pieces streetwear ready. My personal fave is the blue top worn by Jesper Lund, the one I've put aside on the photo above. Click on the images above to enlarge.
