OFFICINE GÉNÉRALE presented its Spring Summer 2018 collection during the Paris Fashion Week. Founder and creative director, Pierre Mahéo has defined it as a beautiful normality – the collection that evolves, not according to trends, but to labels own DNA.
SPRING SUMMER 2018 MENSWEAR COLLECTIONS
Following the January show, I was very content with what I showed but I was still anxious to hear from journalists, buyers and clients. Their reactions were incredibly touching. Our « normality » was perceived as a breath of fresh air in the current state of fashion. As if staying far away from crazy volumes, the «streetwearisation » of everything or embellishments was now a niche in the menswear market. When someone came to me and said, « it seems like nowadays simple has become difficult » I realized something. Officine Générale isn’t in the fashion industry. It isn’t fashion. Our point of view is different: “beautiful normality”. – from Pierre Mahéo’s personal letter to guests
