Versace unveils Fall Winter 2021 menswear and womenswear collection in a digital only format. The label that officially announced it will step out of the Milan Fashion Week calendar for the season has just like the rest of the participants in the schedule opted for a digital only presentation. This is the first time the fashion house has presented it’s collection behind closed doors. The runway collection is showcased with a 10 minute short catwalk film and an accompanying lookbook photo shoot.

FALL WINTER 2021 WOMEN’S COLLECTIONS

“Being a digital event has its advantages. One of them is the possibility of connecting with your audience whenever you think is the right moment. The decision to present the Fall/Winter 21 Collection a few days after the Milan Fashion Week doesn’t affect the fact that Versace remains a proud member of Camera della Moda and that the brand will always be a key player and a big supporter of the Italian fashion system. Fashion is an art and sometimes it has to work outside the usual path to fully blossom,” shares Donatella Versace talking to the press.

The new collection is presented within fifty-nine new looks celebrating the sartorial lines close to the label’s heritage. VERSACE Fall Winter 2021 runway collection also brings front the new print, expected to remain for seasons to come and hopefully a new synonym of the house. The print is to be intricately laced into the labels head-turning identity. This new print is expected to stand hand in hand with Versace Medusa and the Barocco V shaped hardware, and turn into a symbol as easy to notice as the other two. The maze inspired print is the only pattern present throughout the Fall Winter 2021 runway collection.

Capri Holdings owning the label is hoping the new print will boost the sales and ease the overall shopping blow by the corona pandemic, while also creating new legacy for the fashion house. This lack of monogrammed pieces for Versace has been a hurdle in the past years, especially when competing with brands such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci both  known for their distinct prints.

With the planet hopefully jumping back from the pandemic in the second half of the year, Versace is certainly to benefit from our routines optimistically taking us back to our almost forgotten every day lives from 2019. With the launch of the new print we are to expect a huge marketing boost in 2021 guiding us to identify the print as uniquely Versace. “Versace has many items that are clearly identifiable. We have the archive prints, but we haven’t had a signature code for things like accessories,” shaired chief executive Jonathan Akeroyd in his conversation with Business of Fashion published yesterday.
