Fashion designer Jeremy Scott announced that he’s leaving MOSCHINO after ten years of being a Creative Director of the brand. Jeremy Scott was appointed as creative director of Moschino in October 2013, taking over from the previous creative director, Rossella Jardini. His appointment was seen as a bold move by Moschino, which was looking to inject new energy and creativity into the brand. His time at the fashion house is widely regarded as having been a creative and commercial success, with his bold, playful designs helping to revitalize the Moschino brand and make it relevant to a new generation of fashion consumers.

After 10 years I am announcing today that I will be leaving Moschino. I’ve had a blast creating designs that will live on forever. I am grateful for all the love and support I’ve received over this past decade. As I close this chapter I am filled with excitement & anticipation and can’t wait to share with you all what I have in store for you next. – Jeremy Scott

Scott’s first collection for Moschino was the Fall/Winter 2014 collection, which featured designs inspired by Barbie dolls. The collection was a huge hit with fashion critics and consumers alike, and helped to establish Scott’s reputation as a creative force to be reckoned with. In subsequent collections, Scott continued to push the boundaries of fashion with his bold, playful designs. He drew inspiration from a wide range of sources, including fast food chains like McDonald’s and iconic cartoon characters like SpongeBob SquarePants and the Looney Tunes.

Scott’s designs at Moschino were often characterized by their irreverence and humor, as well as their bright colors and eye-catching graphics. He was known for his ability to take everyday objects and turn them into high fashion statements, such as his “paper doll” dress and his “pill bottle” handbag. Despite his success at Moschino, Scott’s designs were not without controversy. Some critics accused him of being more interested in creating buzz-worthy designs than in producing high-quality fashion, while others accused him of cultural appropriation. Nevertheless, he made a huge impact in the fashion world, especially during his time at Moschino. We’ll just have to wait and see what he has in store for us in the future.
