Alice Gentilucci’s FW25-26 collection for Alabama Muse, titled Girls!, is a tribute to the bold, free-spirited essence of modern femininity. Rooted in the brand’s signature bohemian romanticism, the collection extends beyond traditional womenswear, embracing a unisex approach where men also play a role. Designed for effortless sharing between friends and partners, the collection redefines wardrobe versatility while maintaining a distinct sense of seduction and character.

At the heart of the collection is faux fur, a key symbol of sensuality and glamour reimagined with ethical consciousness. The collection features oversized silhouettes and essential lines, striking a balance between classicism and contemporary appeal. Floor-length coats with dramatic collars, over-layered vests, and belted shawl-collar robes shape an elegant yet relaxed wardrobe. The signature Kate piece, with its cloud-like softness and oversized pearl detail, exemplifies the brand’s distinctive approach for refined drama.

Functionality plays a pivotal role in the collection, with Alabama Muse incorporating internal suspenders into each piece, allowing coats to be worn like backpacks. This unexpected detail enhances wearability without compromising on style. Accessories further refine the collection’s aesthetic, with fisherman hats, jacquard scarves, and detachable collars adding layers of personalization. The color palette mirrors nature’s richness, featuring shades like mink, cheetah, crisp white, and bicolor jacquard burgundy with cream, alongside pink gloss and deep black.

Each garment is a product of skilled Italian artisanship, where expert craftsmanship meets a meticulous attention to detail. The lightweight, tailored construction emphasizes the precision of Made in Italy design, ensuring each piece carries an effortless yet structured appeal. The blend of softness and sharpness defines the collection’s unique character.

Beyond the clothes, Girls! is an homage to the 1990s, drawing inspiration from Gentilucci’s career as a stylist and her collaborations with Vogue Italia under the legendary Franca Sozzani. The collection recalls the era’s liberated energy, where fashion became a statement of self-expression. Key influences include Gentilucci’s work with renowned photographer Ellen Von Unwerth, whose lens captured the essence of an iconic, playful femininity. Their shared history, from shooting supermodels like Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington to documenting the carefree vibrance of youth, forms the emotional core of this presentation. More than just a fashion showcase, Alabama Muse’s Girls! is a nostalgic yet forward-thinking reflection on female camaraderie, individuality, and shared experiences.
