Fashion house LOEWE has officially named Kara Wai and Chen Duling as its newest brand ambassadors. The appointment comes ahead of the Spring Summer 2026 runway show in Paris, where both actresses will represent the house. Their appearance at previous LOEWE events, including the Puzzle 10 presentation in Beijing and the CASA LOEWE opening in Shanghai, marked the beginning of their affiliation with the brand.
Kara Wai brings over four decades of experience to the collaboration. Born in Hong Kong, Wai became the first recipient of the Best Actress award at the Hong Kong Film Awards in 1982 for My Young Auntie. She later earned the same honor for her roles in At the End of Daybreak in 2009 and Happiness in 2017. That same year, Wai won Best Leading Actress at the 54th Golden Horse Awards for her portrayal of Madame Tang in The Bold, the Corrupt, and the Beautiful. In 2025, she received the Outstanding Actress Award at the 20th Huabiao Film Awards for her role in Love Never Ends. Her next film is Keep the Beat.

Chen Duling represents the new generation of Chinese film and television. She rose to fame in 2015 with her performance in The Left Ear, earning a Best New Actress nomination at the 24th Shanghai Film Critics Awards. Her visibility expanded in 2023 with the television drama Till The End of the Moon. She took a leading role in Fangs of Fortune in 2024, followed by The Glory in 2025, a drama that attracted strong ratings and critical praise. She will next star in Qiao Chu, continuing a decade-long trajectory defined by consistency and range.

Both actresses spoke about their connection to the brand. Wai described the partnership as aligned with her creative path: “The brand’s passion for art and culture has always inspired me. Its approach to craft and innovation resonates with my own experience in the film industry over the past forty years.” Chen emphasized a shared focus on evolution, saying, “LOEWE continues to explore innovation while upholding exceptional craft traditions. I’m really looking forward to interpreting more surprises together.”

LOEWE’s choice to welcome Kara Wai and Chen Duling creates a dialogue between generations of cinema. Wai’s forty-year career brings gravitas and a proven legacy of craft, while Chen represents the new wave of Chinese talent with a growing global presence. This balance allows the brand to convey continuity, maintain relevance, and project a forward-looking presence.
