Alainpaul introduces the Fall Winter 2026 2027 collection, Répertoire, at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. The concept draws directly from the vocabulary of dance. In choreography, a repertoire describes a body of work performed repeatedly and interpreted through living bodies. The designer applies this logic to fashion, treating garments as objects that return across generations and acquire new meaning through the act of wearing. Photographer Sohom Das documented backstage scenes and details exclusively for DSCENE Magazine.

The brand developed the collection after studying garments preserved in the museum archives from the eighteenth century to the present day. These historical references guide the approach to proportion and structure. The designs examine the physical body in tension with clothing while acknowledging contemporary habits shaped by image culture and a need for comfort.

Tailoring serves as the primary field for technical experimentation. Coats and jackets shift direction through manipulated closures and structural adjustments. Button placements cross the body in unconventional paths while elastic systems appear at the back of the waist. These specific elements create tension across the silhouette to produce sharply defined waists across coats, dresses, jackets, and shirts.
References to eighteenth-century panniers inform the development of volume. Dresses and skirts in viscose crêpe introduce architectural forms within fluid silhouettes. Draped constructions allow fabric to extend laterally from the body while internal structures maintain consistent movement and shape.

The collection also studies the passage of time through material treatment. Satin dresses and skirts feature compressed pleats arranged in irregular patterns to create permanent folds across the surface. This relief and texture evoke the look of garments preserved in archives. Linear silhouettes appear alongside bows and ribbons that reference feminine dress codes, while coating wool dresses and tops introduce exaggerated ruffles.

Sportswear references appear within these structured forms. A silk and cupro parka translates fluid fabric into functional outerwear. Knitwear includes jacquard cardigans and wool-cashmere trucker sweaters featuring the brand’s bolero sleeve code. Finally, an M65 jacket in lambskin features a cinched waist and three-dimensional pockets inspired by pannier forms.
