Dhruv Kapoor Spring Summer 2027 turns toward presence as the central idea of the collection. After exploring transit and movement in earlier work, the designer focuses on awareness, stillness and the visible effects of time. The collection considers what already exists, how materials change and how familiar garments can take on new forms. BACKSTAGE
Layering and proportion shape much of the season. Silhouettes move between elongated, generous volumes and cropped forms that sit closer to the body. Draped pieces appear alongside more defined structures, while garments such as the lungi, vest and sari provide starting points for reconstruction. Kapoor adjusts their proportions and configurations, using them as methods for building new silhouettes.
Textiles carry much of the collection’s visual language. Embroidery moves across seams and surfaces through loose stems and natural lines, while prints reference sun-faded posters, moss formations and aged wood. These effects create surfaces that appear worn, softened and altered over time.
Material treatments extend the same idea. Silk is bonded with jersey, checks are crumpled and fused, and leather is wrinkled to resemble aged skin. Faded denim, tattered appliqué, mixed lace, softened poplin and bonded tailoring add further variation. The color palette moves between muted and saturated tones, allowing different stages of fading and growth to appear within the same look.
Kapoor also continues his approach to unisex dressing. Draped silhouettes, cropped proportions and layered forms move across menswear and womenswear without changing their basic construction. The focus remains on shape, proportion and how garments sit on the body.
Accessories develop several existing ideas. The “Constant” trunk returns alongside a maxi vanity pouch offered in wrinkled, bonded and hand-embroidered versions. The Mary Jane comes back with a squared toe and also appears as a tasseled mule. Leather-wrapped thong sliders reference Indian dressing through a functional footwear shape.
The PUMA x RCB x Dhruv Kapoor capsule extends the collection into sport, revisiting existing forms through altered proportions. SENNES by the House of Senco adds lab-grown diamonds to selected looks, while Paloceras eyewear introduces sculptural frames.
