Up and comer Drake Burnette strikes a pose for the eye-catching Neo-Expressive story captured by fashion and celebrity portrait photographer Sebastian Kim for the January 2014 edition of German Vogue.
For the session Drake is styled by fashion stylist Katie Mossman in coveted pieces from Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane, Chloe, Burberry Prorsum, Lara Jense, Calvin Klein Collection, Bottega Veneta, and Prada to name a few.
Drake's hair styling is courtesy of Teddy Charles, makeup by Maud Laceppe and manicture by Casey Herman. The artful set design was created by Kadu Lennox, casting director Jilia Lange.
“At the beginning, assisting Richard Avedon was really hard for me. It was like being in boot camp. I started as the fourth assistant in his studio, which was one of the last traditional studios. I wasn’t just a photo assistant; I went to his studio during weekends to do his personal things like laundry as well. I assisted him very closely. You are missing a lot if you only try to learn the technical part of photography while you are assisting. Assisting is really important in order to build relationships and learn how the industry works. Even if you are big in Germany and China, coming to New York is a new start since you need to build a foundation to start working with people in New York. The relationships you make will all reconnect later.” – Sebastian Kim for The Ground Mag
Drake is represented by top modeling agencies such as DNA Models in New York, Viva Model Management in Paris, and Why Not Model Management in Milano.
