Swedish artist Ekta colaborated with Marni for Men’s Fall/Winter 2016 collection and Women’s Prefall 2016. The key elements to the collection are Ekta’s stylized faces on t-shirts, shirts, sweatshirts and bags, exploring different combinations of colors, materials and graphic signs.
The female pieces are defined by the presence of polka dots, which enlighten the backgrounds of the t-shirts as well as the white cotton shirts and the PVC shopping bags, while the patchworks delineate the silhouettes of the faces on the sweatshirts.
The male t-shirts made of jersey alternate placed prints to solid tonal trimmings proposed in blue, grey and white.
This project finds its origin in the passion of Marni and Ekta for experimentation and their continuous search for innovative graphic and stylistic resolutions. – from Marni
