Munich-based traditional brand ESCADA, that celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, took its inspiration for its Spring/Summer 2017 collection from ethno elements that are clearly visible throughout the collection: print- wise, tropical palm leaves can be found on various of the collections’s pieces, for instance on its etui- and maxi dresses. Nevertheless the palm leafes appear in a highly subtle way, for instance on outfits that are kept tonal. It can be also recognized on sundry of the collections’ handbags. We curiously followed the labels’ invitation and went on Safari through Africa. Timeless trench coats, sophisticated suits, subtle cut outs and vents, fringed jackets, cool vests, colour blocking at its best, high- waisted trousers in the most unique ways, gorgeous gowns, seductively sparkling statement necklaces- we name it, ESCADA shows it. Incredibly inspiring!
SPRING SUMMER 2017 WOMENSWEAR COLLECTIONS
Colour- wise, this collection is a cocktail of bright, tropical statement hues, such as tangerine, emerald, sapphire, sky blue and strawberry. That vibrant colour choice can be seen as a jollification and expresses pure joie de vivre. In addition to that strong colour palette, a few more restrained tones are used, e.g. caramel, diamond black, vivid white and vanilla. That underlines the simply sophisticated character of those precious pieces.

Leather is interpreted in an innovative, luxurious way: it appears in form of fringed jackets, cool vests or allover knitwear jackets. For those precious pieces, fashion director Daniel Wingate took its inspiration from Moroccan bazaars. Simply smooth!
As you may assume by the cuts of various of this collections’ pieces, they are ’70s inspired as well. Worth of mentioning is also the fact multifarious of the collections’ pieces are belted on the waist, some belts even appear as bows, which underlines the feminine character of those looks. Completely compelling!
However also the shoe choice deserves devotion, look at those comfortable wedges! They makes us dream discovering undiscovered places and treasures.
ESCADA Spring/ Summer 2017 collection felt like an exotic journey through a Moroccan bazaar and we curiously followed the labels’ invite and let the pieces enchant us.
We will definitely keep an eye on ESCADA and on all upcoming collections!
