FALL WINTER 2017/18 MENSWEAR COLLECTIONS
House codes abound in the season’s individualist approach to daywear, as raw materials from calico to dry cotton, upholstery velvet, distressed tweeds and denim rise to the fore. Nonchalant tailoring with a soft shoulder is constructed from a single cloth, their perfection challenged by displaced topstitching and unfinished prints. The silhouette builds from short, straight trousers worn with burnished leather boots or a tooled patchwork loafer, and encompasses a democratic layering of re-assembled items: bifurcated shirting, cord-tied outerwear, and hand-knit sweaters or natural shearlings are sprayed with bold colour. – from Maison Margiela
