FALL WINTER 2017/18 WOMENSWEAR COLLECTIONS
“A girl that unexpectedly links diverse references such as a classic pop band like the cure, and a children’s fantasy books author, Penelope Farmer, is the lead character ?? Angelos Frentzos’ women’s collection for fall-winter 2017-18. Following his men’s collection, Frentzos continues to explore classic tailoring with precise cut but modern details in juxtaposition to the blocked fluidity of traditionally more feminine fabrics. Oversized bags that suggest the life of a contemporary nomad and padded outerwear for protection compliment phrases from “charlotte sometimes” by the cure, that appear printed on some of the garments of the collection. The woman of this collection is dressed in micro pleats that give movement and a strong image and in oversized proportions, a reference to the out of scale doll parts. Bold colors and retro scarf graphics in silk twill offer a touch of femininity, while sauvage flowers and college references in bombers and knits are a sign of youth. Standards in every Frentzos collection, like the classic bomber jacket, are combined with dresses in lurex, silk georgette and floral prints, for a contemporary woman that relates to the lyric “sometimes i’m dreaming”.”
