Moncler celebrates the opening of its Moscow boutique with the new collaboration with renowned Chinese contemporary artist Liu Bolin. Moncler recontextualized Liu Bolin’s fall winter 2017 campaign imagery, using it as inspiration for a limited edition of the classic “Maya” style jacket.
The iconic Maya style jacket, from Moncler’s FW17 collection, has been transformed into a piece of art, inspired by Bolin’s “invisible man” performance for the Moncler FW17 ad campaign, which saw the Chinese artist camouflaged amidst Nordic icebergs. The design recontextualizes Bolin’s campaign imagery, featuring an abstraction of Bolin’s process: the same strokes that painted Bolin in to his arctic background, somehow reminiscent of a landscape from an ancient Chinese painting. – from Moncler
