COUTURE COLLECTIONS
Beyond the derisory din of time, Nature, in its eternal, humming renewal, offers variety in its long-term, unchanging modernity… The Christophe Josse spring/summer Couture collection is a pastoral ode to the emergence of a world of diaphanous lightness and exquisite dawns, where shepherds in long homespun cloaks pace tranquil, radiant fields far from this sombre commotion. Christophe Josse takes us on a dreamlike journey through a contemporary fantasy Arcadia, where laces typical of Thomas Hardy’s Dorset peasant women mingle and echo each other in sure harmony with honeycomb taffetas, linens woven in contrasting shades of amber and wheat, embroidered motifs from Central Europe, the Middle Atlas and Peru, and the diffuse gloss of washed leather satins. He extols refinement, contained fluidity and impromptu mixes of materials, making play on their contrasts. Beneath his caressing lines, he traces the furrow, the real measure of true beauty. – from Christophe Josse
