German traditional brand RIANI presented its Autumn/ Winter 2018/19 collection in the evening of the first show day of Mercedes- Benz Fashion Week Berlin. As location, the new official event location named “E-Werk” in the heart of Berlin Mitte near Checkpoint Charlie, was chosen. The label stayed true to its significant style, consisting of an energetic, entertaining show paired with a very wearable, sophisticated yet cosmopolitan collection.

The show started with a group of models that acted as graffiti sprayers and were entertaining the audience with a vivid performance. With that prelude, the message of this show clearly shone through: creativity and art plays a central role in this collection. Afterwards rapper Bausa was performing his number one hit “Was du Liebe nennst“. “RIANISTAS REVOLUTION“, which can be understood, when the word “REVOLUTION” is reflected, as LOVE, stands for a reinterpretation of fashion and various innovative style influences. New year, new inspirations, new styles.
The collection can be understood as an ode to celebrate strong, cosmopolitan women that know what they want in life and master their life incredibly well. The creations were contemporary yet clean with just the right amount of each. They can be worn at any age and for any occasion and due to their rather restrained, timeless colour choice they do not scream for attention but appear in a highly sophisticated way.
The range of colours consisted of a bunch of classy tones, for example pewter, night black, cognac, creme, emerald green and navy blue. What certainly stayed in mind were sundry metallic pieces, for instance in silver and blue metallic. Quite a few endlessly elegant, rather bright, eye- catching tones built incredibly interesting accents in this compelling collection, such as scarlet, tangerine and royal blue.
RIANISTAS REVOLUTION covers both business wear, for example classy suits with ties, as well as typical Autumn favourites for every day, such as playful dresses that are worn with cool caps and warm shawls. A plenty of looks of this collection showcase a vivid mix and match of various Autumn tones. Cut- wise, whatever you can imagine becomes real: they are ranging from rather loose, to figure- accentuating ones and thus underline the variety of those outfits.
The hair of the models was worn in an endlessly elegant way, either straight back or open with middle- parting. The make- up was kept fresh and natural. Comfortable black ankle boots rounded off the looks.
RIANISTAS REVOLUTION convinced us due to its highly versatile character and a lot of pieces that made us dream about cosy Autumn hours. We cannot wait injecting this collection into our Autumn/ Winter 2018/19 wardrobe and we will certainly keep an eye on its upcoming collections.
