Manuel Facchini presented Fall Winter 2018 collection during the ongoing Milan Fashion Week. Focusing on shapes and their reproducibility, the designer explores the concept of constant transformation.
FALL WINTER 2018.19 COLLECTION
Proportions. Micro versus macro. The hidden geometry of nature. From theory to reality. Fractals – mysterious complex patterns. Their scale increases and decreases, but their shape remains the same. Organic shapes, inspired by nature and animals, including leaves and shining fishes and snakes’ scales, pop up in a wardrobe which is deeply rooted in the brand’s iconic rock-gothic look, enriched this season by a dynamic, sporty attitude. Prints, embroideries, thermo-stitching and laser cuts inject a 3D-effect into the garments, where traditional fabrics are combined with Lycra and technical Framis tapes for new tactile textures. The collection’s iconic symbols are repeated in different sizes and different volumes are juxtaposed. The sense of transformation and fluidity efining the collection is exalted by the color palette, which includes a single bright tone, red, rendered in several tonal variations. This is paired with white and black shades, as well as metallic hues of copper, silver and light gold. Daywear exudes relaxed, effortless ease with sweatshirts, skirts and pants cut in fluid and comfortable shapes enriched by sporty details. Skintight evening dresses show sinuous and sensual silhouettes. More fluid gowns feature hems combing handkerchief and circle designs. – from Manuel Facchini
