SONIA RYKIEL 50 Year Anniversary Collection by Julie de Libran

Julie de Libran
Discover the first chapter of Sonia Rykiel‘s 50 Year Anniversary, a collection designed by label’s artistic director, Julie de Libran. Entitled Manifesto, the collection rewrites Sonia Rykiel’s Upside-Down Dictionary.

The idea of the collection comes from Madame Rykiel’s dictionnaire deglingue – full of quirky, literary wordplay and double meanings. The clothes themselves reflect this, they each are dedicated to a specific word that incorporates “SR” highlighted in red lettering – examples S’aimeR. There is always a corresponding non-literal definition, either hidden or apparent, that plays upon this word.  Words were either directly drawn from the original dictionnaire or new words and definitions invented by Julie de Libran. – from Sonia Rykiel
