Discover Wood Wood‘s Fall Winter 2019.20 Come Down Easy collection that celebrates adventures in nature by mixing streetwear with elements from outdoor living, presented during the recently finished London Fashion Week Men’s.

“As Wood Wood’s Spring/Summer collection found its main inspiration in nature and the wilderness, the AW019 collection continues the celebration of the great outdoors, but this time ventures up in the mountains. The theme of the collection revolves around skiing, climbing and mountains in general. The alpine vibe works as a thematic framework for the collection and in both print stories, details and patches, there is a nostalgic skiing vibe. The ‘Come Down Easy’ title, a nod to Spacemen 3, is a direct reference to mountain descents but also refers to a certain state of mind. Alpine elements will be found on several prints and the collection also features hints of army influences like an updated camouflage pattern from the W.W. archive.
The new sense of charming femininity from Wood Wood continues in the women’s silhouettes this season, all balancing between utilitarian, sporty and chic. The skiing theme is evident in patches used throughout and in an all-over alpine patch print on flattering satin styles. Sporty jerseys, inspired by skiing underwear, and ribbed wool ear warmers with a seasonal silicone patch are all elements from the inspiration. The women’s collection also has a strong outerwear programme including a boxy duffle coat with classic rope and horn button closure, as well as an A-line grandpa tweed coat with silver buckle details. With a strong nod to historic utilitarian and military references, the collection features high waisted combat trousers and skirt with large front pockets, an overshirt and boiler suit with military detailing in washed cotton canvas, all with a subtle mountain camouflage print and corozo buttons. Finally the collection also includes chunky oversized hand knits from Italy in aqua tones, a soft velvet story in dusty mint and deep navy accompanied with fitted chenille stitch knits and a super soft mohair jumper in bright green with a seasonal flag label.
In correspondence with the main theme, the men’s collection features prints and graphics taking its inspiration from vintage skiing and mountain life. Mixing a simplistic Nordic winter look in woolen and chunky fabrics with a performance element, result in a comfortable and functional collection for the modern man. As the women’s collection, the men’s also has a comprehensive selection of outerwear, including a hooded crispy twill parka, a classic M65 jacket with a stowable hood, and a padded lightweight hooded jacket. Additional outerwear includes a luxurious tweed coat and a 90’s inspired sporty fleece vest and jacket. Seasonal highlights also include a checkered flannel overshirt, a crispy collarless poplin shirt and the softest collarless corduroy shirt. A full camouflage look with an overshirt, combat trousers and a bucket hat will keep you deep undercover when “out there“, while delicate Scandinavian folklore knits will keep you comfortably warm and cosy.“
