Designer Angela Missoni presented MISSONI‘s Resort 2020 Urban Safari collection inspired by the idea of a free-spirited and sophisticated explorer that conquers the city, her urban scenario influenced by memories of the exotic and intriguing trips. “The effortless elegant look, injected with an adventurous touch, of Seventies’ icons, such as Elsa Peretti and Lauren Hutton, inspires the relaxed, creative and free-free-spirited attitude of the Missoni Resort 2020 collection.
Stiffness is banned, rules are broken, the individual instinct steals the spotlight. Familiar motifs are re-interpreted to create new patterns, combining imagination and experimentation. The iconic codes of the Missoni DNA are mixed and matched and they are updated through exotic influences.
An equatorial, tropical mood meets the essential shapes of a city wardrobe. Reworked zebra motifs, revisited leopard spots, multicolor foliage and the new Missoni artsy camouflage create a kaleidoscopic array of patterns juxtaposed to the brand’s signature bold geometries. Jacquard mini dresses are worn also as vests on fluid maxi dresses. Shirts take center stage: from the bowling styles shown in a patchwork of different materials to the fitted silhouettes with roomy sleeves and the more classic options punctuated with knitted details. They are paired with high-waisted pants or with the new skirt pants injected with an easy-chic attitude.“
