For Spring Summer 2020, Austrian designer Marina Hoermanseder took us back to the ’80s and ’90s. We, the students of “MH University“, as the posters of her show location said, were curiously awaiting her new musings.

The whole collection felt like a pure jollification and like a celebration of life and fashion. For that purpose, as style icon Iris Apfel once said, “More is more and less is bore“. Thus, this was the right collection for all of you that are easily bored by fashion standards: glitter, eye- popping nuances, batik- and snake pattern, puffed sleeves, over- sized details and fancy cuts- this line contained it all. The music choice perfectly underlined this blithe mood: when we heard “Everybody” from the Backstreet Boys, we felt definitely like this party had to get started right now.

If Marina wanted to emphasize something, it could get big- look at that large, neon yellow bow, the fancy ruffles and over- sized blousons. Her Prom Queens did, without any doubt, love the big appearance. Who would not love to be the Queen, if only for one night?

What else stayed in mind? Of course the leather buckles, that are one of Marina Hoermanseders‘ signature style elements. They appeared anew, this time even in the form of a glitter, corset dress in rainbow hues. However they were, even more, applied in a bunch of very diverse types: on a figure- accentuating dress, on a skirt in vibrant neon hues or, on a corset dress. Contrary elements were vividly mixed and matched in a highly nonchalantly way.

The hairstyle of the models, which was supported by Goldwell, stayed very clear, with hair straight gelled back. The hair accessories, fancy hairbands and hair clippers, were fun to observe. The make-up looks were created by Lancóme and had a very fresh and natural approach.

Marina Hoermanseder stayed true to her significant style. Although she added a bunch of innovative ideas and inspirations that were highly inspiring to observe.
