Vienna, 18th century, Der Rosenkavalier is a witty story of love, relationships and society with rich costumes inspired by the beauty of Vienna Art Deco. While the dresses of aristocratic Marschallin stand for sophisticated modernity and worldliness with intense color blocking next to black and white graphics, at Sophie’s engagement party the city’s wealthy girls are competing for the most over the top gown. With Gustav Klimt’s golden splendor, geometric patterns and lots of color – this production should be – as Director André Heller longed for – a feast for the eyes and a dream to watch. – Arthur Arbesser

Der Rosenkavalier will premier on February 9th 2020 and it promises to be the highlight of the 2019/20 season.
