In a collection dedicated to Hilma af Klint, Bora Aksu creates garments that reflect Klint’s contrasting life; her day-to-day life in the Victorian era as an artist creating traditional works, polarized with her abstract self-journey delving into the spiritual world. Hilma’s layering techniques was also another inspiration source. To create the layering effect, Bora has designed very specific embroideries, prints and textures, combining them with romantic lines and shapes whilst keeping a distinct softness, mimicking the balance achieved in Hilma’s work, life and character. Capes in tulle and organza are also part of this collection, bringing in an ethereal feel.
