PFW: Balenciaga Spring Summer 2021 Collection
Sunglasses at Night comes as the soundtrack of Demna Gvasalia’s latest collection from Balenciaga. The new Balenciaga collection in all of it’s 59 looks embodies streetwear instead of street style. Nevertheless with sunglasses at night and a tracksuit likely you are going to Berghain, or any other similar overhyped temple of clubbing you can imagine.
While other designers dream of summer vacations, lunar olympic games, Balenciaga guy just wants to take his 90s revival of an east european savvy tracksuit to clubbing. Sadly, what else are these clubbing men or women to do than to strut frantically on the streets of Paris to the tune of Sunglasses at Night. This was the storyline of Gvasalia’s live stream replacing his carefully elaborate runway shows from the past seasons.
Demna just as most of the designer offers a vision of future in this erratic 2020. Longing for a relaxing holiday or a relaxed night out clubbing hardly makes a difference this season.
