London-based gender fluid label KA WA KEY presented their Fall Winter 2021.22 Through The Looking Glass Collection, that explores the duality between the imagination and reality, and was inspired by characters such as Willy Wonka, Moira Rose, Peter Pan, and Mad Hatter among others. The collection took huge inspiration from TV and music, as it offered an escape from reality during the past year.

The digital presentation captured by filmmaker Cecilia McAloon Wolff, with music from Robin Appelqvist, was shown as part of the ongoing New York Fashion Week. The presentation was inspired by the work of Tim Burton, and it explores the journey and hardship of growing up. Models Jack Blanco, Isiah Zion, and Taia Tulher star in the lookbook lensed by designer Jarno Leppanen. In charge of beauty were hair stylist Maria Kovacs, assisted by Chris Harris-Gibbs, and makeup artist Michelle Strain, assisted by Alesandra Nieri.

“Through The Looking Glass, KA WA KEY AW 21 collection is a playful and romantic combination of soft and fluffy knits using mainly RMS mohair and uniquely cut swirl patterns. The collection includes 7 pieces designed in collaboration with Japanese fabric manufacturer TORAY using their sustainable fabrics.” – from KA WA KEY
