Discover VITELLI Fall Winter 2021.22 Cosmic Youth Collection, that was inspired by the Afro-cosmic scene of the 1980s, presented with a fashion film “Il Lettóne” (Big Bed) directed by Mauro Simionato and Andrea Lamedica, on February 26th as part of the ongoing Milan Fashion Week. The film explores small gatherings in the current lockdown plus curfew conditions – young people come together in apartments shared by more people, 10pm comes too early, and they decide to spend the night together.

“In lockdown-curfew mode, with the need for sincerity, every idea is shared more directly and you can work in an equally “strict” manner; I wanted to expose what happens in the laboratory as much as possible, and let our most intentional creativity take the lead by removing the early sampling phases and going straight to the making of “final” clothes.
The first attempt at knitwear is always a failure; you need to make small test-stitching first, then start knitting the prototype, which usually gets full of little mistakes. This time instead, new “stitches” tryouts and new combinations of yarns were done only once, brutally cutting and sewing panels to immediately get the “idea” of a sweater.
The mistaken knit, with all irreproducible errors, often becomes the one sweater we bring back home from the lab at the end of the day…that creature that ends up laying by our beds eventually becoming our favourite home-sweater, the only to instinctively pull over in the morning: a group of unique pieces united by a desire for sincerity against fake perfection” – from VITELLI
