Fashion house Katie Ann Mcguigan presented their Pre-Spring 2022 Lost Summer collection, inspired by the brand’s Irish roots, that explores the duality between outdoors freedom and indoors comfort. This collection’s main inspiration came from Belgian photographer Harry Gruyaert and his “Irish Summer” series, captured during a tour of West Ireland in the early 1980’s. The collection finds the balance between playfulness and refined elegance, the imagined and the everyday. The sensual fabrics and relaxed shapes bring the luxury of comfort. Photographer Catharina Pavitschitz captured the lookbook, with beauty from hair stylist Akiko Kawasaki, and makeup artist Kentaro Kondo.

“Colour and print are integral to Katie Ann McGuigan’s work, something echoed in the “Irish Summer” series with Gruyaert coming to prominence for his use of colour photography against a backdrop of early 80’s artistic trends towards black and white, opening the eyes afresh to colour and form, as if seen for the first time. Gruyaert’s work depicts stolen moments of happiness on the Irish coast, dramatic clouds gathering while sun beams break through; a myriad of lights and greys coming together in a palpable expression of the subtleties of colour.” – from Katie Ann McGuigan
