Italian fashion house VERSACE teams up with Lady Gaga and the Born This Way Foundation to celebrate Pride Month as well as the 10th anniversary of Lady Gaga’s Born This Way album. Versace will auction a replica of the iconic leather jacket worn by Gaga on her accompanying world tour and donate all proceeds from the auction to the Born This Way Foundation. The jacket is entirely hand-crafted, and it features golden trims and buckles, and the brand’s signature Metal Mesh. It took over 400 hours to complete. For Pride Month 2021, the luxury house also launched a unisex Born This Way T-shirt and beret, that features brand’s logo in rainbow colors.
I am so happy to partner once again with Lady Gaga and the Born This Way Foundation. Our friendship and our efforts to promote equality, diversity and inclusion have only become stronger with time. It’s been 10 years since we created the looks for her Born This Way Ball, so we’ve decided to revisit the leather jacket – one of my favorite pieces from the tour – to be auctioned for a great cause. Gaga and her foundation are so inspiring, I love the work they do with vulnerable youth and the LGBTQ+ community. – Donatella Versace
