Designer Vincenzo Palazzo presented VÌEN Spring Summer 2022 Menswear Collection and Pre-SS22 Womenswear Collection, that were inspired by electronic music – Acid House and the baggy movement, born in Manchester between the Eighties and the Nineties. The collection reinterprets Acid House elements such as comfortable and wide fits, in their own way with refined fabrics and classic men’s tailoring.
“The genesis of the movement dates back to the founding of “The Factory”, the record label of bands such as Joy Division and New Order; the latter invested their proceeds in a new club “The Haçienda”, a venue that changed the face of Manchester and the movement itself. The music was represented by alternative rock bands such as Stone Roses, Happy Mondays and Charlatans who, incorporating electronic dance into their own sound, served as a link between indie and acid house, between rock and rave culture.” – from Vìen
The collection was presented with a fashion video, entirely filmed inside the Milanese club Magazzini Generali, directed by Marcello Nardone, and a lookbook captured by fashion photographer Antonio Giancaspro, as part of the recently finished digital Milan Fashion Week. Stars of the lookbook are Eli, Giulia Zubiolo, Federico Rodriguez, Mattia Castro, Azuri, Andrea Mangolini, and Francesco Ayrton Lacatena. Beauty is work of hair stylist Xavier Perez, and makeup artist Giulia Gagliano. Production by Next Agency.
