SPRING SUMMER 2022 WOMENSWEAR COLLECTIONS
“A contemplation of the hectic emotional landscapes we’ve all wandered — and the clothes that have accompanied us — results in X-Pression, FEBEN’s SS22 collection. For its debut on-schedule presentation, the NEWGEN recipient offers a concise wardrobe that is celebratory and protective in equal measure; clothes designed to amplify our euphoric highs and nurture us through the abyssal lows that so many of us have endured. A sarong skirt and a pair of generously proportioned, earthen-hued trousers, part of the label’s first-ever menswear offering, give off an air of elevated, homely nonchalance. The latter garment, composed of fused strips of jersey, echoes the waves of hair extension packs stocked in the designer’s local Afro beauty store, the designer’s go-to excursion at the height of lockdown. These pieces are counterposed by the zesty, party-ready satin shirting, body-baring harness silk dresses, and shirred-panelled tailoring in midnight black and hot pink.” – from Feben
