A moment zero, an instant of untarnished void, where the familiar is swallowed up, chewed and spat out at its highest potential. Discover SUNNEI Spring Summer 2022 collection presented in a 7000 sqm warehouse at the outskirts of Milan, during the recently finished Milan Fashion Week. Creative directors Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo, collaborated with the experimental interdisciplinary agency 2050+ on the show experience that tends to metaphysically blow up the brand’s outlier essence into a paradoxical construction.
Propelled by insulation rather than isolation, the team hyper-focused on the what would come next, steering its direction towards a new spring. A moment zero, an instant of untarnished void, where the familiar is swallowed up, chewed and spat out at its highest potential.

The label plays with real and virtual once again. As the guests aprroached the venue, they were given a new iteration of the brand’s sunglasses, the PROTOTIPO 3. Entering the show space they were confronted with a crescendo of uncomfortable white lights, teleporting them through time and space. The bright escalation is so disturbing that a filter is needed to get through it.
The models showed up wearing the experimental garments that adorned their sinuous bodies. It’s the testimony of the brand’s acquired maturity where minimalism of lines and explosion of colors and sophisticated processes are at their finest balance .
Flowers pervade the runway, metamorphosing into prints, jacquards and hand-made bead patterns extrapolated from a personal edition of Simone Rizzo’s father’s meticulous indexing of botanical elements translated into wearable pieces by Loris Messina. A re-edition of this book will be available with the launch of the collection early next year.
New territories are explored through the collection introducing an activewear-inspired selection and a project named SUNNEI 0 WASTE, consisting of a series of items where the lining comes from the use of striped poplin leftovers.
