Fashion designer Maria Grazia Chiuri presented DIOR Fall Winter 2022.23 Womenswear Collection, on March 2nd, during the ongoing Paris Fashion Week. With The Next Era collection, the brand bridges the gap between the past and the future. Chiuri reconstructs a performative relationship between the body and the garment in a technical, aesthetic perspective, in a succession of operations associating forms, savoir-faire, materials and futuristic technologies. One of the key pieces of the collection is The Bar jacket, revisited by Chiuri and made in collaboration with D-Air lab** laboratories, which regulates the body’s humidity and warms it up if necessary. The second piece of the collaboration is a bodysuit crisscrossed by an organic network of colored veins and arteries in luminescent colors which maintains a constant temperature. The show space was envisioned by visual artist Mariella Bettineschi, featuring a gallery of large-scale portraits of women from the history of painting from the 16th to the 19th century.
FALL WINTER 2022.23 COLLECTIONS
This collection seeks to express the complexity of fashion that revisits heritage in order to conceive the lines of tomorrow. A journey that shapes the artifacts of a new world, another world, to be made and invented. – from DIOR
