Nike Dunk Low History

To understand the hype behind the Dunk sneakers, you must now the diffrences between the models. First dunks were made by Peter Moore in 1985, and they were Nike Dunk Highs, endorsed as college shoes or basketball shoes, made in university colors. Later on, in the 90s skate culture became extremly popular that Nike decided to make Nike Skateboarding shoes introduced with the low-top silhouette. This silhouette became so popular that the ones that couldn’t get their hands on them, often searched for similar ones at thrift stores. From basketball and skateboard shoes, the Dunks became a must-have lifestyle sneaker. The newest addition to the Dunk’s family is the Disrupt series, featuring a modern and a bit boxier silhouette than the originals. It is safe to say that from the moment of the release to this day, the Dunks have always held the title of the most comfortable and stylish shoes.

Nike Dunk Low Design

The biggest charachteristic of the classic Dunk models is the the two-tone color scheme. The exception is when Nike collaborates with other brands like Off-White or celebrities like Travis Scott, then you can see bolder prints and colourways of this signature silhouette. The clean lines of the shoe are made from leather with overlays and woven tongue and heel tab. A very simple yet effective design. The most popular Dunk Low releases are: ‘Championship Purple’, ‘Team Red’, ‘Coconut Milk’, ‘USA’, ‘3D Swoosh’ and more. They come in almost every colourway, from red, green, blue, violet to various hues of white, beige and brown.
