Los Angeles-based brand AYA MUSE presented their Spring Summer 2023 Collection with a lookbook. For this season, founder Tina Rodiou was inspired by the intricacy of mushrooms. The collection presents an array of pieces named after just a fraction of the millions of variations of fungi on Earth. Each mushroom plays an important role in the ecosystem, from converting waste into lush vegetation to providing food for living organisms. The collection features a combination of the staple cutout dresses, with a fresh perspective of unique tailoring.
SPRING SUMMER 2023 COLLECTIONS
We have integrated the versatility and regeneration of the mushroom’s aesthetic into this collection. Just like the mushroom, this collection presents a multitude of various appearances, from classic silhouettes to bold suiting. This SS23 collection utilizes innovative materials and techniques such as recycled polyesters and hand crochet to produce clothing that gives life to materials that are seemingly static. Through this collection we aim to provide the audience a reaction of awe to the beautiful, yet simplistic nature of each of the pieces. Each piece comes to life when seen in movement and light, just as a lively, complex, yet seemingly simple mushroom appears from the nutrients and air around us each and every day. – from Aya Muse
