Fashion brand EFTYCHIA presented its Spring Summer 2023 Womenswear Collection on Tuesday, September 20th, as part of the ongoing London Fashion Week. The collection is titled Bleeding Edge – a term used to describe the very latest ultra-modern experimental systems, where a product’s unreliability is a given. It explores the direction of progress in today’s society, that is becoming more obscure. The brand works with denim for the first time, the looks are given a more casual spin in both blue and white denim. For the season the brand’s signature piece, tailored jacket is made out of lightweight wool mohair. The collection’s color palette includes white, camel, ash grey, navy, bronze, and duck egg colors.
SPRING SUMMER 2023 COLLECTIONS
“The velvet and satin parts from AW22’s Tuxedo and Cut Out Double Breasted jackets have been stripped down and visible traces seams tun across like decorative lines. Trousers are loose and relaxed; smart-casual Bermuda shorts come in camel and navy; mini skirts made of wool and cotton, are similar breezy. Building on the previous season’s satin silk cutouts, double slashed bronze dresses are held together by buttons and loops. Cami-shaped tops and slips skirts in bronze and duck egg follow the same form.
Knitted pieces have both a ‘liquid’ and stiff effect: 2D-looking tank tops, luscious jumpers and vest resembling paper, are surprisingly made from treated Japanese 100% linen yarn. (Knitwear development by Ilana Blumberg). Double layered pieces, where a lighter technical fabric is placed on top of cotton, run throughout the collection, augmenting the relaxed feel and flow of layers. The same effect is seen with the lightweight Bomber Trench coat – its layers add to its sense of motion when on the go. Functional collapsed double-layered pockets – where one part is visible, one hidden – enhance shirts, skirts and jackets.” – from Eftychia
