Following the release of the home jersey in June and the away kit a month later, French giants Paris Saint-Germain have unveiled their highly anticipated third kit for the 2022/2023 season. The Parisian club published a video through its official channels in order to announce the third jersey of the current season. Many of the team’s star players appeared during the announcement of the new jersey, most notably Argentine star footballer Lionel Messi, French striker, Kylian Mbappe and Brazilian Neymar Jr. Designed in collaboration with the club’s equipment provider Nike, the 3rd Parisian kit was worn by the team for the first time on Friday, at the Ligue 1 match against Brest.

PSG 3rd Jersey for 2022/2023 Design
The third kit features the standard white, blue, and red that have been used since the club’s inception. They represent the French flag and also have a connotation unique to the City of Paris. The color white represents the club’s famous history in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, while blue, red, and the city’s colors represent the entire area. Unlike the team’s home kit, that incorporates the colors, in form of a navy blue uniform with red and white decorations, and white lettering, the third kit featured white as the main color and is designed as a mirror to their home jersey. The all-white uniform is based on one of the club’s most emblematic shirt designs. For the first time in club history, a vertical blue band edged in red was added in the middle of the white jersey. The stripes have been cut in half, with Qatar Airways, the new main sponsor, replacing Fly Emirates this year.

The club’s emblem is featured on top, while the Nike logo is placed between the two. The newest member of the club’s family of partners, new-generation lifestyle retail platform GOAT, gets its logo placed on the left sleeve of the jersey. It is worth noting that the blue chosen by the American company was not chosen at random, as it was dubbed “Cam Royale” or “Royal Blue.” It matches the same color used as the away uniform in 2020-21. They are made of 100% polyester from recycled plastic bottles, as has been the case for the past few seasons.

Along with the PSG jerseys, a new line of technical and lifestyle apparel is also being introduced. It consists of 50 items, including sweatshirts with the motto “We are Paris,” t-shirts, jumpers, and a bomber jacket in “saturated neutral” colors.
