Fashion brand VICTORIA BECKHAM unveiled its Spring Summer 2023 Womenswear Collection, that embraces femininity, asserts values, and celebrates craft, on Friday, September 30th, during the ongoing Paris Fashion Week. For her first ever show in Paris, designer (and pop superstar) reimagines the brand’s hallmarks and codes with a fresh and modern take. The collection brings silhouettes that underscore the heritage of the brand: masculine constructed tailoring, and sensual dresses, conscious of the body. It plays with dualities such as soft and hard, structured and fluid.
SPRING SUMMER 2023 COLLECTIONS
“The dress is celebrated, an expression of femininity. Bias and spiral cutting explore softness, a strength evoked through delicacy. Tailoring is deconstructed, sliced away to reveal inner construction and the body itself. By simple reduction, pieces are transformed. Sensuality is evoked through fabrics and cuts that tenderly hold the body – georgette, chiffon, silk-jerseys and a satins. Trompe l’oeil prints on denim and bonding techniques on wool trace reminders of sartorial detail. Prints of shells – tactile, delicate spaces, inherently feminine – are overlaid, shifting against the body. Monogram lace opens windows onto the skin, toying with games of concealing and revealing.
