Fashion house MIU MIU unveiled its Holiday 2022 Collection with a campaign titled Private Wishes featuring Esther McGregor, Mona Tougaard, and You-mi Lee lensed by photographer Tyrone Lebon. In charge of styling was Lotta Volkova, with art direction from Lina Kutsovskaya at Be Good Studios, and casting direction by Ashley Brokaw. The collection plays with proportions, and fuses contradictory elements such as feminine and masculine, oversize and miniaturized, outside and inside, the real and the unreal. It stimulates imagination and appeals to personal fantasies, all of them different, individual, and gently provocative.
“The collection creations highlight that fashion is a uniform, there to serve, but also to enrich, so aspirational, bold, playful: a naked sandal with a glitter heel, a pliant ballerina scattered with gold; an iconic bag, big or small, in purest white, inkiest black or reflective; a soulful pearl nestling in a cradle of polished brass. In opposites and in the most intimate and private desires, unique and unrepeatable identity is revealed.
The Miu Miu holiday campaign is both a mirror of the time and a dreamscape, inward looking – private – but an outward looking reflection of innermost thoughts.
