First seen on British rapper Skepta this January, the highly anticipated Puma Velophasis is finally here! The musician has been spotted wearing the model at the Casablanca menswear Fall-Winter 2023 show at Paris Fashion Week sending the internet on fire. First announced last year, Puma Velophasis’ chunky silhouette draws inspiration from the visual codes of 2000s fashion.
Not just that 2000s are coming back to fashion, but the era is an important part of PUMA’s Archive. The design is inspired by the COMPLETE line, designed for running, which allowed the brand to develop revolutionary technologies like the iCELL, e+CELL, and EverRide technologies, which have been used by runners around the world.
The VELOPHASIS builds on this heritage while adapting it to the visual codes of the Y2K culture through PUMA’s progressive vision.

The model combines past and present, taking the best of both eras. It features the asymmetrical upper, honeycombed mesh, textured panels, and inserts taken straight from the ‘00s range but decked out in contemporary materials. The first colors palette is based on a more contemporary aesthetic. VELOPHASIS Bionic features a metallic look with cream and electro blue inserts, while the Phased are inspired by the Vaporwave movement and the Internet culture of the early 2000s with bright tones.
