We may be just a week away from Valentine’s Day, but there’s still enough time to surprise your loved one with a romance-inspired pair of kicks. It is the universal present for everyone, not just a sneakerhead in your life.
SNEAKERS
To make sure it’s a day to remember, DSCENE team has prepared a list of Valentine’s Day shoes from the likes of Nike, Converse and New Balance. These brands celebrate the February 14th by updating their iconic styles with thematic motifs, symbols and colors. See below the list of 5 models we selected for you, from Nike Air Force 1 to Comme des Garçons x Converse’s Chuck Taylor, all with a Cupid-certified update.
Wmns Air Force 1 Low ‘Valentine’s Day 2023’
Nike is no stranger to Valentine’s day inspired sneaker editions and this season the brand has graced us with not just one, but five love-inspired models, including the Air More Uptempo, Air Max 90, Dunk Low, Air Trainer 1, and Air Force 1.
For Nike Air Force 1 Low Valentine’s Day 2023 the Team Swoosh went for a detail-heavy makeover, featuring hanging cherry-shaped hearts, a love heart motif at the “AIR” branding, and double Swoosh. The colorway stays true to the theme with very pink, red, and white.
Wmns 550 ‘Valentine’s Day’
For this year’s Lover’s Day New Balance uses the typical holiday colorway to dress up the signature 550 sneaker in pink and red hues. The brand very rarely changes up its signature toecap on this model, but this time, the traditional design element is dressed up in pink suede. The sneaker is made with white leather, with thick mesh, and perforated overlays. The heel is made with space pink suede, while the front features a bubblegum hue. A red velvet mudguard matches the outsole and New Balance logo, while the insoles and the back of the heel feature red hearts.
Chuck 70 High ‘Valentine’s Day – University Red’
Converse celebrates the Valentine’s Day with a special edition of the legendary Chucks 70 high-top. The model gets its romantic update this season with the “university red” colorway and three hearts stitched on the lateral side panel. The traditional All Star ankle patch is placed on the opposite side of the red canvas upper, as well as the embroidered ‘Made With Love’ embellishment. The model also features a glossy off-white rubber midsole, a translucent rubber outsole with an oversized red heart. Obviously, the whole affair is very red.
Dunk Low Premium ‘Valentine’s Day’
Following the release of the love-inspired Air Force 1, Nike presented the Nike Dunk Low Premium SB ‘Valentine’s Day. Here, the 80s classic is dressed in a typical colour scheme – red and white. The two-toned shoe is constructed in a mix of materials featuring soft suede leather with contrasting smooth overlays. A suede Swoosh is placed on the sides, while underneath, a white midsole and red outsole complete the look. These Valentine’s Day Dunks first released in back in 2014.
Comme des Garçons x Chuck Taylor All Star Hi ‘Play’
The product of a collaboration between Comme des Garçons PLAY and Converse, this highly coveted model pushes the boundaries of street culture. It features classic Chucks styling with a playful, peekaboo heart stamped on the side panels, designed by New York graphic artist Filip Pagowski and Comme des Garçon’s own designer Rei Kawakubo. A black canvas upper, is completed by a white contrast stripe on the heel, an Off-White toe cap, and vulcanized rubber midsole. It is first released in June 2017, in black and Off-White colorway.
