Fashion house DAWEI unveiled its Fall Winter 2023 Collection, that reimagines the 19th century fashion for today, on February 28th, during the ongoing Paris Fashion Week. The collection named The Curtain Rises explores the spirit of the 19th century, the impact by the invention of steam engine, the air of elegance, and the hope and desire that were thriving. For the season, the brand examines the collision between the past and the present, but instead of nostalgia it brings a breath of newness. Color palette includes beige, grey, brown, sky blue, grass green, aubergine purple and goose yellow.

“The corset silhouetted with sharp lines, the accordion-like skirt that can be fluidly stretched, the dramatically designed hemline of the coat, the purposely placed tab and the fluffy gigot sleeves… These are all marks found by DAWEI from the past within the palace. Meanwhile, the hand-sewn sunray pleats has added a stately dimension to the collection. Like winding rivers, the pleats horizontally or vertically spread over the pieces.
