With each new release, Nike maintains its top spot in the sneaker market while continuing to dazzle sneakerheads with its silhouettes. One of the most well-known and acclaimed designs from the brand is the Nike Dunk. The silhouette, which has been around for a while, is currently enjoying a genuine rebirth. The demand for Nike Dunksr has increased dramatically in recent years, and vintage styles are currently selling for some of the highest prices on the secondary market. Due to the model’s enormous appeal, recent releases are currently totally sold out, and retailers are utterly unable to keep up with demand. Fortunately, this May, sneakerheads will be treated to some of the most distinct Nike Dunk variants, which will be available in a variety of colorways and styles.
The Rise of the Nike Dunk
Although the Nike Dunk is a skateboarding and lifestyle staple today, college basketball is where it all began. Peter Moore, the designer of the famous silhouette, drew inspiration for his creation from four other classic styles, including the Air Jordans, the Legend, the Terminator, and the Air Force 1.
By creating a sneaker that was versatile across many colorways, Nike laid the groundwork for the modern collaboration format. By the early 1990s, it had been transformed into a skate shoe in the New York scene, where its robust construction, flat, thin sole, and straightforward design made it the perfect crossover sneaker.
With so many excellent sneakers available right now, it can be challenging to find the perfect Nike Dunk for yourself. Thankfully, we’ve put together a list of some of our favorite models releasing in May 2023 based on their price tags and designs to make it easier for you to decide which pair to add to your collection.

In their most recent collaboration, Nike SB teamed up with the Mexican beverage company Jarritos to offer a number of colorways of the popular sneaker that were inspired by some of the most well-known flavors of the Mexican drink. The design recalls the Jarritos brand logo and may be a nod to the popular Mandarin flavor thanks to the orange on the heel logo and the forefoot of the outsole. It has a tan burlap or hemp overlay, a green swoosh in twill, and a light gray leather base. The tongue logo and the insoles both have a co-branded graphic that is centered around a trio of juice jugs. Finally, bespoke logos in the Jarritos typeface on the heel tabs honor the two brands. Retailing for $130, the Jarritos x Dunk Low SB will make its debut alongside a line of clothing that includes t-shirts, sweatshirts, and jackets.
The Jarritos Dunks are set to release on May 6 at select retailers, while the SNKRS release will take place at a later date.
