Fashion house FURSAC presented its Spring Summer 2024 Collection on June 22nd, during the recently finished Paris Fashion Week. As the sun rises over Brittany’s lovely emerald shore, the Fursac man sets sail from Dinard to Saint-Malo, joined by his close pals, all dressed in dazzling navy blue. The magnificent shoreline glides past gracefully as joyful sounds blend with the rhythmic waves. One of them is dressed in a sophisticated peacoat, another in a comfortable fleece smock, and another in a classic sailor’s sweater. Refreshing sea air flows through the air ducts of the boat shoes, a subtle compliment to seasoned sailors. This is Brittany, an area known for strong winds and exciting summers, a home for leisure boats and legendary adventurers.
SPRING SUMMER 2024 COLLECTIONS
Gauthier Borsarello, the creative director of Fursac, maintains a special place in his heart for this vision of Brittany. He returns to his ancestral homeland to tell stories of fishing and trading, delve into naval history, and channel the ageless style of Eric Tabarly, the great French sailor who commanded the Pen Duick. Borsarello, a thorough researcher, finds inspiration in evocative whites and indigos, with undertones of licorice reminiscent of old sailing ships. He pays respect to the past while looking forward, infusing each piece with local references, culture, and new components like modern materials, contemporary cuts, zippers, and press studs. The end result is a wardrobe that speaks to the modern man, regardless of his origins or destination.
Gauthier Borsarello diligently constructs his vision of a more sophisticated, mature, and ambitious French wardrobe with each season. His style reflects modest elegance, attention to detail, and a great respect for traditional tailoring norms and garment history. His new collection is expressive yet approachable, encapsulating the heart of the Fursac philosophy: clothing made to last, age beautifully, and eventually become cherished vintage pieces for future generations.
