The striking Xian Peng stars in Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors story captured exclusively for DSCENE Magazine‘s The World We Live In edition by fashion photographer Lavina Solo. In charge of art direction and styling was Iryna Li, assisted by Yulia Tereshchuk, with beauty from hair stylist Nami Harada, and makeup artist Julia Schelkonogova. For the session Iryna selected pieces from brands such as Delfina Balda, Burberry, Gucci, Gucci x Balenciaga, Corban Harper, Dries Van Noten, Prada, Marques’ Almeida, Christopher John Rogers, Feben, Saint Laurent, Viktor & Rolf Mariage, Shuting Qiu, J’Amemme, and Valentino. The story is a two-part visual narrative that explores the duality of human existence and how we interact with the environment around us. The first part of the story is captured in the busy city, depicting the hustle and bustle of daily life as people become a part of the rhythm of the city. The project is capturing the chaos and energy of the urban landscape, showcasing the vibrant colors, textures, and people that make up the fabric of city life.
The second part of the story is taking the viewer into nature, where the focus is shifted to one becoming a part of nature and its balance. The images are showcasing the interconnectivity of humans and nature, depicting moments of peace, solitude, and harmony. The project is an exploration of the relationship between humans and the environment, offering a unique perspective on our place in the world.
