Luxury house Givenchy unveiled its Fall Winter 2023 campaign featuring Mona Tougaard, Karolina Spakowski, and Liu Wen lensed by fashion photographer Heji Shin. The campaign draws inspiration from the opulence of the 1950s and 1960s Couture golden age. By paying homage to the rich Givenchy archives from that era, the images serve as a striking demonstration of the Creative director Matthew M. Williams‘ ability to draw inspiration from diverse sources, such as the House’s historical archives or contemporary street fashion, and transform them into a new form of sophisticated modern glamour.
I wanted to express Givenchy’s new elegance by taking cues from our past and adapting them to the present. The look focuses on confidence, comfort and empowerment, three concepts that are integral to the House’s codes. Today, they are personified by Mona Tougaard, Karolina Spakowski and Liu Wen. – Matthew M. Williams
Among the featured looks is a two-page spread of Mona Tougard wearing a black sculptural bolero over an asymmetrical mousseline dress. This ensemble exemplifies the designer’s refined approach to proportion and contrast to perfection, exuding an air of sophistication. Karolina Spakowski models a slash-front silk lavaliere blouse and a wool mohair tricotine long black skirt on a single page, expertly combining classic Givenchy elegance with a contemporary twist. Other wardrobe staples, such as a pale yellow leather trench coat, exemplify the designer’s modern and refined interpretation of classic fashion.
The Givenchy Fall Winter 2023 campaign also features a variety of accessories, including the Voyou statement bag in a new medium size, which is available in seasonal colors or with metallic finishes. The Shark Lock Cowboy boots in aged black calf leather or satin pink with jewel-like accents, as well as the enticing lurex green heels, boost the range. Exquisite jewelry, such as the Stitch rings and cuff, the Charm necklace, Daisy earrings, gloves, and the angular new metal Giv-Cut sunglasses, complete the ensembles.
