Loren Gray, born April 19, 2002, is an American singer-songwriter and social media star best known for her TikTok career, which she launched in 2016 at the age of 13. Her popularity on the platform skyrocketed, and she became the most-followed TikTok user from March 31, 2019, to March 25, 2020. She moved to Los Angeles, California, to focus on developing her online presence after facing bullying at school as a result of her social media success.
She made her music debut in 2017 in the music video for “Personal” by English pop singer HRVY. Following that, in March 2018, she got a record deal with Virgin Records and released her debut single “My Story” in August, inspired by a friend’s turbulent love life. She then released “Kick You Out” in November 2018, a song she co-wrote and produced with Ido Zmishlany, and “Queen,” an empowering anthem produced by Captain Cuts, in December 2018.
After departing from Virgin Records and Capitol Records in February 2020, Loren Gray pursued her music career independently. She released her first solo independent song titled “Piece of Work” on July 9, 2021. Billboard named her one of the top ten music influencers on TikTok, citing her large following of over 50 million admirers on the app.
