For Autumn Winter 2023, the Loro Piana Cocooning Collection returns for the first time with a men’s collection, combining excellence and innovative spirit, transforming knitted undergarment into the sartorial equivalent of an embrace. The sensory component adds a dimension of exclusivity and softness in all its forms, resulting in a wardrobe of flowing, relaxed silhouettes that epitomize spontaneous elegance.

The collection radiates a relaxed aura, spotlighted through a natural color palette that does not utilize dyes. This choice ensures the preservation of the intrinsic qualities of high-end materials. The spotlight is on Aircash, a sumptuous but incredibly warm cashmere yarn that feels divine against the skin. Another star material is Cashmere Fleece, a newly introduced 100% cashmere knit fabric, designed in a way that always highlights its texture. The women’s line features raised stripes, intricate waffle stitches, delicate ribs, and a variety of weights that adorn shorts and pullovers, available with either round necks or dropped shoulders.

For women, there’s a seasonal shift towards burgundy, especially evident in the stretch wool jumpsuit which pairs seamlessly with a Baby Cashmere shrug. The color spectrum is dominated by luminous creams, ranging from luxurious cashmere jersey cycling shorts to designs in textured Fuzzy Silk. For the men’s collection, the garments, whether they be sweaters, pullovers, or trousers, are crafted from Aircash or a harmonious blend of cotton, cashmere, and wool. These pieces have gentle volumes, ensuring comfort without compromising on a sophisticated fit.

To enhance the collection, Aircash socks and legwarmers along with Cashfur home boots are presented. The Cashfur, with its fur-like texture, pays homage to Loro Piana’s supreme cashmere. It’s combined with an equally exquisite silk yarn, resulting in an ultra-light, soft fabric in a warm, cocooning shade. A predominant sentiment in this collection is comfort, a non-negotiable for Loro Piana. This, coupled with the superior quality of materials, graceful volume, and masterful color choices, defines its aesthetic. The result is an embodiment of ageless sophistication, even in one’s intimate spaces.

For the grand unveiling of the Cocooning Collection, photographer Alasdair McLellan, in collaboration with stylist Aleksandra Woroniecka, has captured the essence of the line. Models Valentin Humbroich, Rebecca Leigh Longendyke, and Mona Tougaard are the stars of the campaign, that showcases a group of friends, basking in the winter sun and surfing, all the while enveloped in the comforting embrace of the Cocooning Collection.
