Shu Qi Named Bottega Veneta’s Global Ambassador

Shu Qi joins forces with Bottega Veneta as their newest global brand ambassador.

Iconic luxury fashion house Bottega Veneta has unveiled its latest Global Brand Ambassador – the internationally celebrated Chinese actress, Shu Qi. This exciting collaboration is presented through an exclusive campaign, masterfully captured by photographer Sander Muylaert.

With nearly 30 years of artistic dedication, Shu Qi has consistently impressed audiences worldwide with her unmatched versatility, evident from blockbuster successes to esteemed art-house cinema. Notably, her roles in “Millennium Mambo” (2001), “Three Times” (2005), and “The Assassin” (2015) – all directed by the illustrious Hou Hsiao-Hsien – have garnered her pivotal spots in the prestigious Cannes Film Festival’s main competition.

The numerous awards are a testament to her caliber. She boasts of three Hong Kong Film Awards, two Golden Horse Awards for Best Actress, and other significant recognitions from the Shanghai Film Critics’ Awards, Huabiao Awards, and the Asian Film Festival. Furthermore, her expertise has been sought as a jury member at renowned film festivals, including the Berlin International (2008), Cannes International (2009), and Venice International (2023).

Following the path set by BTS’ RM earlier in March, Shu Qi emerges as the second influential cultural figure to embrace the Bottega Veneta brand, led by the Creative Direction of Matthieu Blazy. Given Shu Qi’s monumental status in China, this partnership solidifies Bottega Veneta’s long-standing affinity for the arts, resonating perfectly with the brand’s foundational ethos.

Shu Qi expressed her admiration for the brand, stating, “Bottega Veneta inherits the classic spirit of Italian craftsmanship, invigorated with innovative creativity and a truly global outlook. There’s a cinematic quality to the design, with a beautiful sense of texture, detail, and movement. It’s a pleasure to represent such a rich heritage and distinct creative vision.”

Most recently, after gracing Bottega Veneta’s Summer 24 show in Milan, Shu Qi now dazzles in a bespoke campaign, spotlighting the brand-new Gemelli shoulder bag, which is set to release today.
