In a blend of streetwear and high-fashion, Matthew M. Williams, the creative mind behind 1017 ALYX 9SM and Givenchy, has offered a glimpse into his latest collaboration with Nike. This time, the iconic Air Force 1 Low silhouette is getting the ALYX treatment.

Following the heels of the Air Force 1 High, first teased in 2018 and launched in 2020 with various iterations since, the new Air Force 1 Low is a study in understated elegance. Unlike its predecessor, famed for the eye-catching roller coaster buckle, the Low version opts for a more subtle approach. It eschews extra hardware in favor of a sleek, refined look, marked only by a co-branded deubré.
The collaboration’s magic lies in the details. Expect to see tasteful co-branding, possibly printed, etched, or stitched, adorning the heel’s lower portion, the tongue label, and the insoles. While the current sketches, in a minimalist black and white palette, leave much to the imagination in terms of texture and material, the distinction between the ALYX version and Nike’s standard AF1 appears to be nuanced yet significant.
