XG (Xtraordinary Girls) takes the cover story of Vogue Japan Magazine‘s January 2024 edition lensed by fashion photographer Kizen. In charge of styling was Rena Semba, with set design from Akihiro Yamaya, movement direction by Chikako Takemoto, and post production by Mari Obara. Beauty is work of hair stylist Enoc Lee, makeup artist Soyeon Jung, and manicurists Kiho Watanabe and Runa Yonekuraand Kana Kikuchi at Uka.
XG, an acronym for Xtraordinary Girls, is a Japanese girl group that has made a significant splash in the K-pop industry since their debut. Managed by Xgalx, a subsidiary of Avex, XG is based in South Korea and comprises seven members: Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Juria, Cocona, Maya, and Harvey, with Jurin serving as the group leader. The group debuted on March 18, 2022, with the all-English digital single “Tippy Toes”. Their follow-up single, “Mascara,” was released on June 29 and was performed on South Korean Mnet’s ‘M Countdown’. Their viral rap cypher video “Galz Xypher” gained 15 million views on TikTok. Their song “Shooting Star” and its music video were released on January 25, 2023, followed by a series of releases leading up to their debut EP “New DNA,” which was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). XG stands out for its international appeal and English-language releases.
